Metaverse Features

MUD User Interface

User Interface

  1. Info: Opens a dialog box with information about the Verse and sharing options.

  2. Portals: Displays a 2D sidebar with available portals in the Verse.

  3. Mute: Toggles your microphone on or off.

  4. Camera: Toggles your camera on or off, the shared camera appears like a video in the room.

  5. Share: Allows you to share your desktop screen with others, appearing as a video in the room. Click again or use the object menu to remove the media.

  6. Emotes: Opens a menu to select and spawn emojis in the Verse.

  7. Raise Hand: Shows a raised hand emote above your avatar and notifies the moderator that you want to speak.

  8. Tool: Opens a tool to spawn objects or find media you can bring into the Verse. Additional objects that you can place are listed below:

    • Add Avatar: Select and position an avatar in the Verse for others to use.
    • Pen: Draw in 3D space, change pen size and color, undo strokes, and generate 3D models from drawings. (see the Drawing Menu)
    • Selfie Camera: Create a camera object to take photos and videos of the Verse, adding them as objects. A link appears in the chat for each photo or video. Click the camera option again to remove the camera object.
    • Lobby cast: Broadcast your avatar view to the lobby.
    • File: Open a sidebar to upload 3D models, images, and videos from your computer, or provide a URL for these files.
    • Artwork: Upload artworks, adding an art label and QR code to the declared artwork.
  1. Participants: Displays information about people in the Verse and lobby, including the number of members, their names, and device types. Access advanced user controls from this list.

  2. Chat: Engage in text-based conversations with the entire Verse or specific users. Enables object creation and commands. Commands include:

/leave - Disconnect from the room.
/grow - Increase your avatar's size.
/shrink - Decrease your avatar's size.
/duck - Create a duck object.
/debug - Toggle physics debug rendering.
/vrstats - Toggle stats in VR.
/scene <scene url> - Change the scene (moderators only).
/rename <new name> - Rename the room (moderators only).
/audiomode - Toggle left-right spatialization, but keep distance-based attenuation (experimental).
/audioNormalization <factor> - Equalize audio levels (experimental)
/fly - Toggle fly mode.
  1. More: Opens a panel with additional options, including settings related to the Verse and user settings, and access to help documentation.

  2. Leave: Exit the current Verse and return to the lobby.

Verse objects and avatars have their own menus. On desktop, hover your cursor over the object and press the space bar (or tab). For VR devices, see the Controls section of the docs.

Object Menu

MUD - Object Menu

  1. Pin: Makes the object stay in the room when you leave. By default, objects disappear when their creators exit.
  2. Target: Opens a focused view of the object. This menu item is present for media objects.
  3. Resize: Resizes the object.
  4. Open link: Opens the URL of the object in a new browser tab.
  5. Trash: Removes the object from the scene.
  6. Gravity: Makes the object fall to the floor.
  7. Clone: Makes a duplicate of the object.
  8. Rotate: Rotates the object.
  9. Magnify: Displays a view of object low in your view. This menu item (not shown) is present for media objects.
  10. Convert to drawing: Converts the object back to a drawing. This menu item (not shown) is present if the object originated from a drawing.

Avatar Menu

MUD - Avatar Menu

  1. Volume: Changes the volume of the user's audio. (Doesn't affect the volume for others in the room.)
  2. Hide: Hides a user's avatar and audio from you. This only applies to the current session; once you refresh you will see them again. Other room members can still see and hear the user.
  3. Mute: Mutes the user's microphone so that they are no longer heard by anyone in the room. (Moderators only.)
  4. Kick: Temporarily kicks a user from the room. (Moderators only.)

Camera Menus

mud - Camera Menus

  1. Photo: Takes a still image and adds it to the Verse as an object.
  2. Video: Records a video and adds it to the Verse as an object. Note that video recordings are temporarily saved to browser storage and may be lost if space runs out. For event recording, use a screen recording tool like OBS. This feature is not available on Safari.

mud - Camera Menus

  1. Object Focus: Reorients the camera to face the object or user.
  2. Object Track: Makes the camera rotate to follow the object or user.

Drawing Menu

MUD - Drawing Menu

  1. Cube: Makes the drawing into a 3D object.
  2. Undo: Removes the last stroke.
  3. Trash Removes the drawing from the scene.

Info Menu

The "Info" button opens a dialog with information about the Verse and sharing options.

MUD - Invite Menu

  1. QR Code: You can download or share the QR code with mobile users to enter the Verse.

  2. Verse Link: Copy or share the Verse Link URL for other users to Join.

  3. Embed Code: If you have Verse permissions, you can embed the Verse in a web page using the provided iframe HTML code.

Video Controls

Hover your cursor on a video to display its video controls.

MUD - Video Media Controls

  1. Screencapture: Takes a screenshot of the video and then adds it to the Verse as an object.
  2. Volume: Changes the volume of the audio playback for you. (Does not affect the volume for others in the Verse.)
  3. Play/Pause: Plays/pauses the video.
  4. Time Controls: Jumps forwards/backwards in the video.

Emotes Spawners

A menu of emoji spawners is displayed when you click on the emote option in the toolbar.

It let's you spawn a grabbable emoji that emits particles when shaken. The emoji is deleted a few seconds after you let go of it.

Raise Hand Feature

You can raise your hand during a meeting or gathering, which will display a hand emoji above your avatar and alert the moderator that you wish to speak.

Media Frames

In the metaverse, you will find Verses equipped with special sections for Media Frames, allowing you to integrate objects in the environment for others to see. To utilize this feature, click on the "+" icon, and an upload form will appear. Get close to the media frame so the file is automatically positioned in it.

You can also get close to the media frame range and drag and drop a file, which will automatically position itself within the media frame.

Alternatively, you can select a file in the room and drag it to the media frame to position it.

Depending on the configuration of the room, Media Frames can accept both 2D media and 3D models or only one type of file.

Snap Colliders​

In the metaverse, you will also find Verses specially designed with Snap Colliders to display artworks or items. This feature enables you to incorporate objects into walls for others to view. To take advantage of this functionality, upload an artwork and approach the wall with the snap collider so that the file is automatically placed within it.

Public Domain Art

The Tools modal allows you to upload your own assets and access 3D objects from Sketchfab and Public Domain Art. Incorporate files into your scene by clicking the chosen file.

MUD - Community Media

Here, users have the option to incorporate the files they upload or existing ones within the metaverse, arranging them within a gallery or showcasing them in an exposition for others to see.

To integrate a file into your scene simply click the chosen file and it will be appear in the metaverse.

If you upload media from the Public Domain Art, you can do different things with this artwork, such as see it in AR by scanning the QR code or customize and edit it to make it uniquely yours.

AI Agnets in the Metaverse

In the metaverse, you'll find Verses with AI Agents trained on specific topics. You can interact with an Agent by getting close to it or by starting a chat through the participants sidebar. This chat allows you to engage with the AI via voice or text.
